LOG KYA SONCHENGE?

By Sumaiyya Syed

How often do we think 'Log kya sonchenge'? Do we get this question in our mind every single time when we take a decision? Even when you have to wear a dress for the party? I'm sure you may have! I have also been a victim of such thoughts. In this blog, I will be highlighting a couple of reasons why we tend to think more often and how do we alleviate the situation.

Before I state, I would like you to give a thought for fraction of a second, when do you last remember any pain? Like a toothache or surgery? Or a heartbreak or death of your loved one? Were you worried about anything that was happening in Russia? Did you care for the person who was elected as a president in your state? NO! Because YOU are the most important person to yourself. You just wanted that pain to go away. You stay with yourself 24/7, and it's absolutely normal to feel that way.

So you have to understand this goes the same with other humans on the planet, you might not be the most important person to me but - I am. And from their perspective, so are their family members, close friend etc. So basically people don't care much about you and they are least interested in what you're doing.

You always tend to take approval from them for your decisions. Did you ever ask yourself, WHY? Do they know you're life better than you?

LOVE CAN'T BE EXPECTED FROM EVERYONE

To receive love, we try to become the so-called version of perfection decided by society already. Mark my words, it doesn't work. Even after you become the best version of yourself, people will judge you based on their beliefs and values.

No matter how hard you try, some people may still not like you and that is absolutely fine. Imagine if you base your self-worth on what others think of you? What if unfortunately, they disapprove of you? You are simply compromising your self-worth for the approval of others, which is indeed a high cost. You cannot allow others to decide your personality. Other wise, you can aim to have good morals inculcated for your betterment.

As the famous saying goes-

"When you are twenty, you care what everyone thinks, when you're forty, you stop caring what everyone thinks, and when you're sixty, you realize no one was ever thinking about you initially."

IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

Your job is to just be the best way you can and express yourself to the fullest. Now, what people might think of you is none of your business. Do not allow them to have control over your behaviour or actions. Even great personalities and leaders are hated by millions of people around the world. Therefore, it is not needed to make it your personal mission to change people's image of you.

Always try to give an ear to the suggestions of the ones whom you value, but always take a decision which runs well for you. Because no one on Earth can understand your situation better than you. So never try to lower your esteem and always be confident in yourself.

Do visit back next week to learn a few tips to use these emotions to grow.
